Christianity: The Origins of a Pagan Religion
Christianity: The Origins of a Pagan Religion by Philippe Walter promises to be an must read book. To be released by Inner Traditions, it purports to reveal how Christian mythology of the Middle Ages had more to do with Paganism than the Bible. Among many promises, it is supposed to identify pagan deities that were incorporated into each of the saints as well as showing how all the major holidays on the Christian calender are modeled on long-standing Pagan traditions. It will be on my wish list to read. Look for it in August 2006. ISBN 1-59477-096-4.
