Riding the edge of waves and Sky,
Riding the shore from the Sea –
You bridge between our world and your own,
Oh, master of the veil.

Hail, now let our worlds be one
As we share this time and place.
We share this time and place.

Rider of the Nine-Wave Sea
You part the veil that divides,
As one we stand in this holy place
In breath and heart and life.

Hail, now let our worlds be one
As we share this time and place.
We share this time and place.

To Mannanan we give our thanks
For celebrations of joy;
Joining our roots in fond embrace
With wisdom in our hearts.

Hail, now let our worlds be one
As we share this time and place.
We share this time and place.

Hail, now let our worlds be one
As we share this time and place.
We share this time and place.

From the President – Imbolc 2011

For me, Imbolc is a startling feast. It reminds me that the goals and plans I made last Samhain better be more then just an idea.  By Imbolc I should have a clear plan of action defined, and, usually, I do not.  So, it is a wake up call for me. I need to get my stuff together and work on things.

Last Samhain, with the passing of Isaac and Alexi so fresh and a close friend diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer, my thoughts turned to my own mortality and I questioned whether  my affairs are in order or not.  Mostly I do, but there are certainly things I should do and haven’t.  For example, although Wren knows what to do with the Henge archive documents and materials, if something happened to both of us would the executor of the will know what to do.  What about magical items and oath-bound material?  Could it be inventoried by a third-party as part of the probate process?

Most of us know we should have a “living will” (healthcare proxy) and a regular will to assure our assets are distributed according to our wishes; however, do we have all the documents together in a place that your trusted ones can find.  Will they find and reference to that odd little life insurance policy that was received for free when you joined the credit union?

Part 2 of this From the President is for members of the Henge of Keltria only.
